Job Title: Supported Living Service Manager
Reporting to: Head of Support Services
Salary: €59,000 to €65,000 depending on experience/qualifications
Contract duration: Permanent, subject to probationary period and garda vetting
Contract Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday

About the role:
The Supported Living Services Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the service whilst leading the middle management team to maintain and provide continuous improvements in the Quality of the support services provided. This role works closely with the Head of Support Services and the Senior Management Team

Interviews for this vacancy will take place week beginning 05th March 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Below are the key areas of responsibility; (This list is not exhaustive)
Operations
• Ensuring delivery of the support services function under the HSE Service Level Agreements in place across the organisation
• Lead the delivery of, and be accountable for, high quality, effective and safe services for Deaf and Deaf Blind Adults
• Regular monitoring of operational plans and reporting to Safeguarding committee & Head of Support Service on performance
• Deliver high level reports to the Head of Support Serivces /CEO and Board
• Identifying and promoting opportunities to engage with service users to improve the quality of services delivered
• Management and development of the support services staff, peers and volunteers
• Lead and promote the Social Role Valorisation (SRV) model of support for all service users, in line with the agreed vision

Safeguarding and Compliance
• Be responsible for the management and effective delivery of safeguarding policies and procedures across the community-based service, raising and pursuing concerns where necessary or supporting teams to do so
• Carry out the Bi-Annual HSE Safeguarding Audit with Management Team to identify areas of improvement to promote a safe and positive safeguarding culture
• Stay up to date with all Safeguarding publications and implement as appropriate
• Collaborate with the Senior Managment Team as required on Compliance in areas relevant to the Supported Living Service as per the HSE Service Level Agreement
• Preparation for internal & external audits and developing and overseeing improvement plans
• Oversee the Person in Charge where community homes fall under a HIQA designated centre

Management and Development
• Manage, Develop and Support the Supported Living Service Management Team to provide an effective and Quality Support Service
• Ensure communication of service developments with all teams as required
• Actively participate in succession planning with the management team to ensure equal opportunities
• Oversee the clinical team ensuring clinical delivery meets the ethos and values for the service model in a person-centred way to each service user
• Keep abreast of current and recent trends and developments including liaising with HR regarding legislative updates.
• Ensure team adherence to employee handbook policies and oversee grievance and disciplinary procedures if required
• Responsible for setting employee performance development plans according to the annual process
• Ensure appropriate processes are in place for the development and supervision of staff

Qualifications required:
• Relevant QQI level 7 or education equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience at senior management level including administrative as well as social care management experience
• Experience of service inspections and audits e.g. HSE/HIQA
• Experience in delivery of community-based services

• Have experience of developing networks
• Must be a confident decision maker

Other Requirements:
• Willingness to become fluent in ISL, classes will be provided
• Post holder will have, or will develop, an understanding of the Deaf community and Deaf culture
• Role will involve travel within the Dublin area
• Post holder will ideally have a full clean Irish driving licence
• Post will require the user to be competent in use of word, excel, powerpoint and outlook
