The Deaf Community
The Deaf Community is defined as a group of people who share a visual perception of the world, a common cultural and social experience and use a common language.
This includes people who are Deaf, their families and hearing people who share the above experiences and understanding.
A Deaf person is someone who is either Deaf or Hard of Hearing and considers themselves to be part of the Deaf Community.

- We are fully committed to working in partnership with the Deaf Community, with people of diverse Deaf identities, with other organisations representing the interests of Deaf people, and with public sector bodies in representing and serving the interests of all Deaf people
