Job Title: Accounts Assistant – Part Time
Reporting to: Senior Accountant
Salary: €25,000 to €30,000 pro-rate dependant on experience
Contract duration: Permanent, subject to probationary period and Garda Vetting
Contract Hours: 20 to 24 Hours per week

Summary:
The Accounts Assistant will assist in the effective management of the finances of the organisation, including the production of the monthly management accounts, the annual budgets, the statutory accounts, the management of cash flow and the production of management information for all stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Below are the key areas of responsibility; (This list is not exhaustive)
Working with the Financial Controller to;

  • Invoice entry, processing payments run and Creditor’s ledger reconciliations.
  • Generation of sales journals, monitor Debtors and prepare analysis for the business.
  • Journal preparation and entry for the preparation of the Management Accounts.
  • Process Monthly Payrolls, Journal postings & Revenue Returns.
  • Reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Complete detailed analysis of various P&L and Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Assist with the annual audit and any other stakeholder audits.
  • Other finance project work as required from time to time.

Key Requirements:
Knowledge (Education & Related Experience):

  • 2/3 years’ experience in a busy accounts department in practice or industry.
  • Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified Accounting Technician
  • Experience in a charitable organisation an advantage but not essential.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience using accountancy and payroll software essential.
  • Excellent PC skills (Excel, Word etc.)
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland
  • QQI (Formerly FETAC) Level 3 in Irish Sign Language or commitment to achieve within 12 months and QQI Level 4 within two years – this course will be funded by the organisation

  • Willingness to embrace ad hoc responsibilities outside of the accounting role in order to meet our client’s requirements.
