Job Title: Transport Driver
Location: Reach Deaf Services Boarding Campus for boys and girls and other associated Locations of Reach Deaf Services.
Salary: €15.20 per hour
Hours: 5 hours a week, 01:00pm – 04:00pm on Fridays & 5:30pm – 7:30pm on Sundays
Contract duration: Permanent, Subject to 6-month probation period

Summary:
The Transport Driver will provide safe transport for all Boarding students to and from the Boarding Campus. The Transport Driver will follow a scheduled Journey plan to ensure all students arrive safely and on time to their destination.

Interviews for these vacancies will take place week beginning 16th of December 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities:
This is list is not exhaustive

  • Drive Boarding Campus Students to and from the Boarding Campus to Holy Family School and to Train Station / Outings etc
  • Communicate and engage with staff in relation to scheduled journey plans
  • Be proactive in journey planning by staying connected to traffic apps and Irish rail for any updates and / or diversions that could disrupt the student’s journey.
  • Complete vehicle checks to ensure the bus is fit for all journeys
  • Sanitise the bus before and after each use
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all staff and students
  • Report any concerns or hazards in relation to the bus
  • Report any concerns in relation to students
  • Complete report forms as required
  • Complete errands as required
  • Liaise with the Supported Living Service to meet any ad-hoc transport needs
  • Full Clean Driver’s Licence ( “D1” licence is required)
  • Be over 25 years of age
  • Enjoy driving
  • Good communication skills
  • Comitment to Learning Irish Sign Language and attending training which is provided by Reach Deaf Services.
